Larelle McMillan: Research Director

Larelle McMillan is Research Director for the Sustainability Program with CSIRO Agriculture and Food and is based in Brisbane, Australia.

With more than two decades’ experience, Larelle leads research in sustainable transitions in food systems in Australia and internationally. She has worked across a wide range of food system science and policy domains including natural resource management, ecological values and natural processes, Indigenous knowledge systems in Australia, international agricultural research for development and food and nutritional security. Larelle has contributed to national and globally significant projects in the areas of complex monitoring, evaluation and learning, and growing the area of sustainability-focussed science while building a pipeline of system investment across programs. She has particular interest in the role of research organisations in system transition agendas. Larelle is passionate about building relationships and partnerships for impact in the agri-food system.

Larelle is a member of the Steering Committee for Food System Horizons.
