Uncovering the true cost of food is the first step in making agrifood systems more inclusive, resilient and sustainable. Agrifood systems activities generate significant benefits for society, but also have negative impacts on economic, social and environmental sustainability. The State of Food and Agriculture 2024 is a flagship publication of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO). It builds on the findings of the 2023 edition, delving deeper into the use of true cost accounting assessments of agrifood systems and identifying policy interventions aimed at transformation.
Launching on 8 November 2024, Food System Horizons is proud to host this webinar to facilitate discussion on the implications of the true cost of food approach to revealing challenges and opportunities in the Australian food system.
