Food System Horizons Launch
The launch of Food System Horizons is a unique event bringing together diverse, bright minds to consider how Australia can develop more a sustainable, healthy, equitable, and productive food system.
This one-day event will include a VIP launch, a networking lunch and an immersive dialogue. You have the option of attending one, or all three sessions.
The Food System Horizons launch will provide you with an understanding of how The University of Queensland and CSIRO are working together to improve Australia’s food system. The networking lunch will enable you to meet people from across the food system. The dialogue will provide you with insights into the science supporting debate about the future food systems we want, and how to work towards those. The dialogue is also an opportunity for you to get involved in defining the challenges facing our food system, and to play an important role in addressing those challenges.

Food System Horizons is a collaborative initiative between The University of Queensland and CSIRO. It is helping Australians think differently about how food can provide opportunities and benefits for sustainability, health, equity, and productivity.
Food System Horizons is using science to help Australians understand the food system, their roles in it, and who they need to work with to develop a more sustainable, nutritious and equitable food system.

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM – Food System Horizons VIP Launch
Hear from food system leaders on the opportunities we have on offer to transition to a more sustainable, equitable and nutritious food system.
11:30 AM – 1:00 PM – Networking and lunch
Meet a wide range of stakeholders across the food system representing environmental, economic, health and social outcomes.
1:00 PM – 3:00 PM – Dialogue: Tackling the challenges of our food system
Get involved in immersive discussions that provide you with insights into the science supporting debate about the future food systems we want, and how to work towards those. The dialogue is also an opportunity for you to get involved in defining the challenges facing our food system, and to play an important role in addressing those challenges. It will be a facilitated discussion activity that will inform Food System Horizons research and stakeholder engagement.
